Tyler Wehner
Bio
My name is Tyler, I’ve been married to my wife, Jenna, for eight years. My favorite person in the world is my two-year-old son, Finley! I have a reputation for having a sense of humor (albeit a dry one). I enjoy running and nature. My favorite season is Spring, for so many reasons, and the start of Baseball season is certainly among them! Professionally, I have over ten years of Customer Service experience, and I am excited about making a new start in IT.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: Before enrolling at Centriq, I worked for an insurance company for six years. It was a good job, but it didn’t feel like I was making an impact at the end of the day. I have had many passions, but the one constant was always technology; so, after some encouragement from a recent graduate, I decided to take a huge step and engage with Centriq. So far, it’s looking like one of the best decisions I’ve made!
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite class so far has been Cisco Networking; the first time I was able to get two hosts in separate networks to communicate was a big moment for me!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: At this point in my education the possibilities seem almost overwhelming! I can see myself pursuing a career in System Administration or Networking, but I’m convinced that Centriq’s instructors have the best jobs! Maybe with more education and experience I could find myself teaching in some capacity!
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I’ve always been interested in vintage, old and otherwise unique houses with character. My wife and I bought our first home, a 100-year-old Prairie Foursquare, four years ago, and I’ve enjoyed the small (and not-so-small) restoration projects that some homeowners would otherwise dread!
