Bio
I have been an elementary and high school substitute teacher and a teaching assistant. I have also coached competitive girl’s gymnastics teams and volunteered through AmeriCorps with Habitat for Humanity. I was also in the Army as an Information Technology Specialist. Any time my friends or family have computer issues, they usually come to me to help them out.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: As I was deciding on a career change, the representative from the Workforce Partnership and the VA recommended Centriq as one of my possibilities. They had recognized others who had completed the program and secured reputable jobs and were very pleased with the program. I made an appointment with Russ to take the test and after taking the time to examine all my options, Centriq came out on top.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: Every class has covered important practical skills that I will be able to use no matter what, so it’s difficult to choose just one! What I value most are the instructors; they’re precise, concise, and will go the extra mile to ensure students success.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I would like to find a company that values a diverse working environment which is inclusive of women in technology and that would help me refine my skills to become a Systems and Security Administrator.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I enjoy traveling, playing sports, older video games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, SSX Tricky and even N64 Zelda and Mario Bros games. I like the original Star Wars series and Star Trek: The Next Generation (my apologies to those who think you can’t like both ????).
