Featured Developer Student for March 2020
I grew up in Kansas City and I have spent most of my adult life working in the food industry, in the same restaurant, for seven years. I learned all the positions and went from server to head-line cook, where I learned every facet of the business, got to meet all kinds of people, and learn how to cook which had always been an interest of mine.
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I heard about Centriq from family members and always had spent time researching and trying to find a way to change careers. Centriq gave me a chance to dive deep into coding and fully commit to the mindset of a developer. I found a passion for learning about tech and connected with a group of people around me that had the same plan.
Q: Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject during my time at Centriq has been MVC. It is a culmination of the knowledge we learn along the way and really starts to cement the concepts and skills I’ve learned. I like that there is an endless amount you can learn about code in general.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I hope to move into a career where I can continue to grow and find new opportunities to improve my skillset every day and then convert that passion into production. I also want to spend time trying to turn ideas into reality and see what technologies and people I meet along the way.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: One of my main hobbies is cooking. I like finding a recipe, creating it, and then trying to make it my own. I also enjoy games and PC building.
