Featured Developer Student for June 2018
I am a KC native that grew up in Blue Springs. The past 6 years I have worked in fast food. My last position was as Store Manager where I really discovered my love for training and helping others reach their potential. In March I decided it was time for me to pursue my original ambitions of working in the IT field and enrolled in Centriq Training.
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: As a kid I always loved technology whether it be building a computer and troubleshooting any problems they had or just playing video games. I always wanted to work in IT in some way. I have always been a quick learner and when my friend told me about the quick pace of Centriq it seemed like the right choice (which it has 100%).
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject so far has been MVC. I love to see all the moving parts coming together now and making a whole application. Being able to use all the technologies we have learned so far is extremely helpful, not only by giving you the ability to do things you couldn’t with just say C# but also by reinforcing everything we have learned up to this point.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After completing the track I hope to work for a company that will encourage continued learning. I am in love with developing right now I don’t want my skills to become stagnant.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: Anything to do with technology. I enjoy customizing computers, watching eSports, playing video games. Since starting this class I have really enjoyed working on my own development projects as well. When I am not doing something related to tech I love to spend time with my wife usually going to sports games or hanging out with our dog.
