When I was 8 or 9 years old my dad brought home our first family computer, an IBM 186. I had to learn DOS just to play Everquest which at the time was a glorified paper game. Ever since I’ve been in love with technology. It didn’t help that my family were and still are big SciFi nerds. I took that love of tech to the Navy with me becoming an Aircraft Electrician, I was really into planes at the time. I spent 13 years in the Navy learning and working on a plethora of aircraft and electronics, rather rapidly I was put in charge of ever-increasing levels of responsibility. After an injury I left the Navy and started my journey into more interesting technologies.
For the past 5 years I have been working in the service industry as a bartender and server. Out of high school I went to Missouri State University for 1 year and continued my education at Maple Woods Community College the next year. Although I enjoy my current profession, I feel that I am ready to start a career in a field that I have passion for. I have always had an interest in IT and finally decided to pursue that interest here at Centriq.
For the last five and a half years I worked as an Integrated Health Specialist, which is like a social worker. Back at the end of January, I found a coding book at Aldi that used Berkeley’s drag and drop coding system SNAP! I enjoyed learning to use that program and wanted to learn how to write the actual code, not just drag and drop code.
I am a Marine Corps combat veteran originally from Kansas City. I moved to St Louis almost 9 years ago and it has slowly, but surely, felt like home. I spent the past 10+ years in various roles in the foodservice and hospitality industry, most recently as General Manager of an iconic St. Louis pub.

While attending school, I worked part-time at the local casino as a table games dealer. After graduating, I continued working in the casino industry in various, different roles and departments including accounting, surveillance management and now internal audit. I’ve been married for the past 16 years to my wife Adrian and I have two young, beautiful daughters: Bailey (age 10) and Parker (age 8).
I’m married with 2 great kids. I grew up playing sports and went to Lindenwood University on a baseball scholarship. I graduated with a degree in Athletic Training and then took a position as a restaurant manager. After being a restaurant manager for the last 9 years, I finally feel like I have found the right career in Web Development. It was a tough decision to make but I feel coding will offer me the satisfaction and opportunity that I have been looking for.

I moved from Missouri to Wyoming to Massachusetts to Cali back to Missouri. I now live in Independence with my Husband and my cat Phelix.
My name is Joshua Harrison. I served in the United States Army as a Field Artillery soldier. I deployed to Iraq in 2008 in Babil Province, which is south of Baghdad. Ever since I can remember, I have had a strong curiosity towards technology. When I was a child, my Father introduced me to the computer languages Visual Basic and HTML, and I was hooked! I have since explored technology further and I love to expand my knowledge of the “how’s” and “why’s” applications behave the way they do.
